Why are adults the only ones to change the world?
With the world advancing with such rapid speed, youth need to be empowered and encouraged to start taking steps towards progress. Some may think that teens are too young to be entrepreneurs but that’s what provides them with skills they may use further in their life. Some youth have established things that lasted for years.
Walt Disney, most well known as the creator of Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters, was in fact a teen entrepreneur. He drew sketches of cartoons merely with his imagination and sold those sketches to neighbors, experimenting with what they might like to see. As one thing led to another, he soon received fame and launched animations at the age of 18.
Walt Disney is merely an example of youth entrepreneurship, but there are many more who have proven that their age doesn’t define their capability.
While keeping this thought in mind, youth entrepreneurship takes more than just an idea. It takes passion, sacrifice and many hardships to walk without guidance. The argument stays at whether youth can balance their own life with the stress of running a business. In teenage years, youth may not have the right support and experience required to network and may find it stressful to deal with conveying others their reliability. Taking such a rough path could lead to loss in the business.
All though youth entrepreneurship may be hard but it's not impossible. Being a youth entrepreneur also brings an equal amount of benefits. One creative idea can help bring a spark of will to change the world in a youth’s mind. This even helps the development of a youth’s brain in many ways. It helps one to build their problem solving skills and critical thinking to use.
When innovating something new, you also have to be mindful of the amount of time you have and planning it out properly. This also allows them to reach out to connect with others which helps them in the long run.
Knowing how the actual business world works gives them an early experience of the different perspectives and provides them with experience, allowing them to open doors to new future opportunities. Youth entrepreneurship helps build a mindset of growth and positivity in that individual as they develop the capability of tackling many tasks at once.
Considering today’s world, AI and social media are great support to a teens business plans. Social media allows youth to publish their ideas and receive proper feedback from users about their satisfaction with this innovation. AI could be a great help to analyze final products before publishing and is very affordable as it is low in cost.
To conclude, youth entrepreneurship is not based on how a child can run a business, but how a unique mind holds an approach to run it. The experiences that teens learn throughout this journey allows them to learn multiple lessons. Every time they face a challenge in their business, it helps them gain confidence, improve and grow their ideas into something that may work.
